Being a mineral means it’s inorganic, not made of carbon-based polymers like proteins, and it’s not an acid or an enzyme. This inorganic, crystalline material provides the rigidity of bone and teeth, and synthetic hydroxyapatite is used in medical and dental applications to mimic that natural mineral component.
